WHY THE NAME OGUN ENERGY?
OGUN is a warrior spirit of the IFA pantheon. He is said to live in the forests, and he is the one we go to open our paths. Ogun rules the heart chakra, which has hardly about self love as it is about TRUTH, ENLIGHTENMENT, and RADICALLY ACCEPTANCE. The truth of our essence, of the truth of our story, the truth of what we have come here to express and create.
Ogun not only rules the heart, but also rules creativity and is said to be the creator of technology and civilization. He is a fierce warrior that fiercely protects and is just as capable of destruction as he is capable of creation.
OGUN is one of my ruling Orisha, and has profoundly changed my life. Only once getting to now him, did I deeply understand how to use my own shadow as my muse, how to CREATE with rage, and how to live in fearless authenticity.
I am calling this online artist residency OGUN ENERGY because it is for those who are ready to stop being forgettable, stop being someone others scroll past, and start being revolutionary.
You only become forgettable if you forget your own truth.
Ogun guides us into remembering who we TRULY are, and what we’ve come here to create.
DO I NEED TO HAVE A SPECIFIC SPIRITUAL BACKGROUND TO PARTICIPATE?
Absolutely not.
The Orisa first and foremost exist within our bodies, each ruling a specific energetic center commonly known as the chakras. They are personifications of the different aspects of the creator, all aspects exist within our being and our lives. Ogun rules the heart, just as Oshun rules the Solar plexus, Obatala rules the Throat Chakra, Shango Rules the root, etc.
